In 2021 the College of Opticians of Ontario will be holding elections in two districts: District 2 (Eastern), and District 3 (Northern).
Serving on the Board of Directors is a rewarding way to contribute to public protection and the governing of the self-regulated profession of opticianry. Elected members of the Board set the standards, and policies to ensure that the public continues to receive ethical and safe eye care from competent opticians. Elected Board members represent the public in the Board's decision-making.
If you are a Registered Optician in good standing with the College and are interested in using your knowledge and skills in the interest of public protection you should consider entering a nomination. Eligibility requirements include residing in the district where election is being held. Candidates must meet the requirements set out in the College’s elections by-law (6.3). You may also nominate an eligible member to run for election in your respective district.
